چکیده

Abstract Background The wheat stink bug, Aelia rostrata Boheman (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is one of the harmful insects that caused significant product losses in cereals due to outbreaks. Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) are natural enemies soil insect pests whose effects as a biocontrol agent against many have been demonstrated by laboratories and field/garden studies world. present laboratory studies, using native EPNs [ Steinernema carpocapsae (Black sea isolate), S. feltiae (isolate 09-31) (Aydin isolate) Heterorhabditis bacteriophora 09-43) isolate)] bug adults, were carried out. Results In application plastic cups, highest mortality rates (75 70%) on occurred at 200 IJs cm −2 concentration isolate 15 12 °C, respectively. other tested nematode species, was observed H. isolates, with 65–35% 55–25%, most pathogenic among three tested. Conclusions It concluded had potential A. . applications great for management pest. Effective use should be evaluated integrated pest strategies between biological control agents. According experiments results, field trials conducted future studies.

Spatial Distribution of Stink Bugs (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) in Wheat

A two-year study was conducted in South Carolina wheat (Triticum aestivum L. (Poales: Poaceae)) fields to describe spatial and temporal dynamics of stink bugs (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), which were sampled weekly with sweep nets. In 2010, the main phytophagous stink bugs caught in a grid sampling plan across two fields were the brown stink bug, Euschistus servus (Say), the rice stink bug, Oebalu...

Field attraction of the stink bug Euschistus conspersus (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) to synthetic pheromone-baited host plants.

The attraction of the stink bug Euschistus conspersus Uhler to sources of the synthetic pheromone component methyl (2E,4Z)-decadienoate was investigated in a series of field experiments in native vegetation surrounding commercial apple orchards in Washington. In experiments with pheromone lures placed inside two different tube-type traps, stink bugs were attracted to the immediate area around t...

Characterizing Damage of Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) in Blueberries.

Brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys (Stål) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is a severe economic pest of growing importance in the United States, Canada, and Europe. While feeding damage from H. halys has been characterized in tree fruit, vegetables, and agronomic crops, less is known about the impacts of stink bugs on small fruits such as blueberries. In this study, we examined H. halys fe...
